Lancaster County approves multiple infrastructure and service contracts, awarding about $1.17 million for road and bridge work

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners on May 5 approved a set of contracts and contract amendments covering road preservation, bridge repair and facility services.
County Engineer Pam Dingman described the Crack Sealing 2026 project as one of the department’s largest preservation efforts. The Board awarded the contract to Highway Improvement Inc for an amount not to exceed $594,000; the motion passed unanimously.
The Board also approved an award to Lobato Construction LLC for repair of County Bridge H-253 for $421,225.50. Dingman said reimbursement costs for that project have been requested.
For soil stabilization work shared by the County and the City of Lincoln, the Board accepted the Purchasing Agent’s recommendation to award a contract to Uretek USA Inc in the amount of $150,000.
Separately, the Board approved a memorandum of understanding with Sioux City Truck Sales Inc, doing business as Peterbilt, for repair services on construction and purpose-built equipment, with estimated costs not to exceed $50,000. The Board approved other routine contract renewals and amendments on the consent agenda, including a Wellpath LLC amendment for medical care services at the Youth Services Center (not to exceed $503,928.57) and multiple facility and service renewals.
All votes on the contract and consent items at the May 5 meeting were 5–0 in favor.
What this means: The awarded contracts prioritize pavement preservation and structural repair for county roads and bridges and secure vendor relationships for equipment repairs and corrections health care. Reimbursement for at least one bridge project has been requested but not yet confirmed.
