Lancaster County recognizes Human Services employee for redesigning case planning

Lancaster County commissioners on April 28 approved an Exceptional Circumstance Award under Personnel Rule 17.9(b), granting a two-step pay increase to Human Services employee Caroline Steffensmeier.
Sara Hoyle, Human Services Administrator, said Steffensmeier redesigned the department’s case planning processes to improve accessibility and communication with families and that she engages youth by identifying interests and creating incentive-based goals tailored to their needs. Steffensmeier introduced family members at the meeting and thanked department leadership for professional development opportunities.
Commissioner Sean Flowerday moved to approve the award and Commissioner Matt Schulte seconded; the motion carried 3-0 with Commissioners Christa Yoakum and Chelsea Johnson absent.
