Surry Select Board approves warrants, committee appointments and a road name; reviews wharf plans

The Town of Surry Select Board approved Payroll Warrant #87 for $14,250.97, Accounts Payable Warrant #88 for $37,158.63, Accounts Payable #90 for $7,617.50, and Electronic Payment Warrant #89 for $182,079.11, which included School Warrant #30 (P/R $83,509.03 and A/P $98,570.08). Nick Noddin moved to approve the warrants; Pat Kane seconded and the motion passed unanimously (vote counts not specified).
The board confirmed several appointments: Katrina Willette to the Recreation Committee and Derek Nelson to the Alewife Committee; Michael Bishop was appointed as an associate member of the Planning Board for a two-year term ending in 2028. Chris Stark moved each appointment; the motions passed unanimously.
The board approved the new road name Fern Wood Ln, off Surry Road, on a motion by Nick Noddin and second by Pat Kane. Andrew McCullough reported engineering plans for the town wharf are complete but said funding and final implementation depend on further conversations with MEMA and FEMA. A cistern for Newbury Neck Road is scheduled for delivery on June 24.
The board also noted the Hancock County Planning Commission annual meeting on June 24 and moved its administrative work session to June 22 so members could attend.
