Commission hears updates on new senior center, meal program and facility improvements

Senior Center Director Ann Marie Claffey reviewed three months of bus reports showing increased ridership, discussed future advertising and potential newsletter changes, and announced an expansion to the meal program: a Wednesday lunch. Claffey also described recent building improvements—overhead heating in the front foyer, new exterior signage and the addition of a flagpole—and told the commission that growing patronage may prompt consideration of a new position to handle increased service demand.
The commission had no public comment during the meeting and did not alter the center’s improvement plans at this session. Staff and commission members will continue to track usage and report back as plans proceed.
