Regular meeting approves $32,500 planning staffing amendment, moves into executive session on Hunter Tier property

At a regular meeting on July 22, 2024, participants approved a resolution to amend the adopted 2024–25 budget to provide $32,500 to the planning department for two temporary employees and authorized a $1,500 transfer from contingent funds to cover bucket-truck testing for the electrical department.
A staff member who read the resolution said the planning department is short-staffed because of recent personnel changes and requested the $32,500 to cover two temporary positions for roughly 13 weeks, June 1 through Aug. 31, at which point staffing needs would be reevaluated. The staff member also said the $1,500 transfer would pay for testing/certification to ensure the electrical department’s bucket truck is safe and operable. The staff member noted there are "significant salary savings" in the planning budget that should offset the cost.
A motion to approve the budget amendment was moved and seconded and members voted in favor.
The meeting also took up the abstract of audited vouchers. A committee member pointed out an accounting description error for vendor "E Iron Works" on page 38, saying the vendor and amount were correct but the charge should be applied to the capital project for the transfer-station generator rather than the line currently shown. The committee member said Department of Public Works (DPW) had no objection to either reposting the abstract with a corrected description or removing the item and adding it to the next abstract. The members approved the abstract with the plan to correct or repost the item as discussed.
After completing regular business, the chair announced the body would convene in executive session for "advice of counsel" under New York State Public Officers Law §105(h) to discuss the proposed acquisition, sale or lease of real property related to the "Hunter Tier" project. A motion and second to enter executive session were made and members voted in favor.
No public questions were recorded during the meeting’s discussion of the budget amendment or vouchers. The meeting then proceeded to the announced executive session.
