On June 5, 2026 the Marquette County Judicial & Public Safety Committee voted to forward an amendment to Chapter 50 of the county code that defines a “minor” as anyone under the age of 17.
The change was presented to the committee as a technical alignment with state statute. Supervisor Lance Achterberg moved to approve the amendment and Supervisor Chuck Bornhoeft seconded; the committee carried the motion and sent the amendment on to the County Board for final action.
