Trustee Brennan says Larchmont achieved Climate Smart Communities bronze status and will pursue silver

Trustee Brennan told the Board on July 15 that Larchmont has been recognized at the Bronze level in the Climate Smart Communities program after nearly two years of documenting local projects and policies.
Brennan credited coordinator Alon Kaksinger and members of the environmental committee and volunteers who compiled documentation for points earned through local actions such as LED street-light conversions. "It elevates us when we are looking for new grants, to do here in our community that have to do with environmental incentives," Brennan said, describing Bronze as a step that strengthens grant competitiveness.
She said the village will begin work toward Silver, a larger effort that will require additional projects and documentation. Trustees thanked the environmental committee and volunteers for their work.
