The Village of Larchmont Board of Trustees voted on July 15 to issue an environmental assessment form (EAF) related to planned replacement and refurbishment of the Alma Field turf.
Village officials said the project includes a 10-yard extension of the field and that the EAF will be referred to county and state agencies to gather comments. The mayor said the board and staff have discussed the turf concerns with sports leagues, the school and the village environmental committee and determined replacement and refurbishment are the preferred course of action.
The motion to issue the EAF was made, seconded and approved with board assent. Trustees noted the form will include minor edits to the project description before distribution and that agencies’ feedback will inform next steps. No final construction approvals were granted at the meeting; the EAF is an environmental-review step required before contracting or bidding.
