Glynn County procurement analyst Nikki Thompson announced the public opening of bids for RFP 26-035, a multi-year contract to supply bait for the Blythe Island Regional Park Marina. Thompson identified herself as the county procurement analyst and confirmed the event was being held publicly and streamed on the county’s YouTube channel.
Thompson said the county received three bids: Bennett’s Bait of Brunswick, Georgia; Leslie Jacobs of Brunswick, Georgia; and a third submission from Elyria, Ohio that appears in the transcript with variant names. "The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to waive technicalities and make an award in the best interest of Glynn County," Thompson said, adding that she and the project manager will review all paperwork for accuracy and completion.
Thompson told listeners a bid tabulation sheet would be posted to the Glynn County website under the Procurement department as soon as it is available and provided a contact email for follow-up: nikki.thompson@glynncounty-ga.gov. She said the recommended award will be presented first to the Finance Committee and then to the full Board of Commissioners at their next scheduled monthly meeting.
The county did not announce a recommended award at the opening. The number of bids was stated as three; specific bid amounts and the formal recommendation were not provided and will be shown on the posted tabulation when available.
