Commissioner Tarolli made separate motions, seconded by Commissioner Roger Domokos, to remove a dead cherry tree at the Senior Resource Center and to remove six trees at Lakeview Park after those trees were identified by Commissioner Larry Holman and Stephanie Miller.
Commissioner Holman reported a $150 donation to plant a tree at the lighthouse; he said the donation had been requested by Tracy Colston, the city’s Safety Service Director. Holman also raised concern about a dead tree on private property at 403 Harrison and said he will call the homeowner to request removal. He told the commission the tree falls under the city’s tree safety ordinance and that the law director may be included in follow-up discussions.
The commission revisited a previously tabled removal request by George Parker for a tree at 323 E. 2nd St.; Commissioner Roger Domokos said the homeowner seeks removal of a small tree and trimming of large maple trees. Commissioner Tarolli moved to act on Parker’s request and Commissioner Ed Urban seconded the motion.
