At its meeting, the City Council moved into a closed session to "conference with labor negotiators," the city attorney said.
The city attorney told the council the matter involves the MEA, the National City Fire Fighters Association, the Police Officers Association and unrepresented groups including Executive, Confidential and Management employees. "The 1 item we have is conference with labor negotiators, and the employee organizations involved are MEA, National City Fire Fighters Association, Police Officers Association, and the Unrepresented Groups. Executive, Confidential, and Management," the city attorney said.
Mayor Morrison announced the council would go into closed session and, after the closed session, said the council had come out and would "be reporting out at the end of the council meeting." The mayor later called the meeting to a close.
The public transcript contains no additional details about the subject matter of negotiations, any proposed terms, or a final public action related to the closed session. The council returned from closed session, completed a silent roll call with members present on the dais, and adjourned without announcing any vote or public decision tied to the closed session.
