The Port Clinton Finance Committee approved Ordinance 19-25 on June 24, 2025, authorizing the city to fund the acquisition and renovation of 201 Madison Street. Committee member Jerry Tarolli moved approval on the ordinance’s second reading and Beth Gillman seconded; the motion passed 3-0.
Gabe Below, the city auditor, presented the ordinance and told the committee the proposed financial package is feasible because the General Fund “has the capacity to accommodate debt service payments up to and including the amount authorized in the ordinance.” He said the acquisition would not require any increase in fees to the general public and would not affect city services.
The committee did not record additional public testimony or amendments in the meeting minutes. With the committee’s approval on the second reading, the ordinance moves forward under the procedural framework for ordinance adoption set by the committee’s rules. The meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m. in the Linda Hartlaub Council Chambers and adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
Action taken: Ordinance 19-25 approved on second reading, motion by Committee member Jerry Tarolli, seconded by Beth Gillman, vote 3-0.
