The commission accepted a written request for an extension of remediation work at 15 Guinea Road following a site visit and a discussion of remaining onsite material.
Nicholas Medeiros of Bodwell Engineering described a small quantity of limestone remaining in the pond that will remain until professionals provide further guidance. General Contractor Tim McGrane reported that 550 yards of material had been removed and indicated the person who dumped the material was not involved in removal. Neighbor Alexis Ostrander raised questions about pH testing and noted that haybales used for erosion control appeared deteriorated and had not been replaced. The commission voted to accept the extension (motion by Larry Rand, second by Scott Schreiber) with all in favor.
The commission’s acceptance of the extension allows work to continue under existing oversight; members commended contractor efforts and asked staff to monitor remaining controls and testing requirements.
