Parish engineer recommends adding Vancil Road Exchange to capital outlay list; jurors discuss Washington trip

Mr. Shane Smiley and Kevin Crosby, parish engineer, discussed the parish’s Capital Outlay projects during the Finance Committee meeting on Oct. 7. Crosby suggested adding the Vancil Road Exchange to the Capital Outlay list and said he would review the prior list and bring a recommendation to the Police Jury at the next meeting.
Chair Toni Bacon raised travel plans for jurors to go to Washington, D.C., for a Mardi Gras event scheduled days after the 2025 presidential inauguration and suggested that meetings with the delegation could be scheduled to discuss Ouachita Parish priority projects; no action was taken on the travel item. The meeting adjourned at 8:07 p.m.
