Board staff reported on the district's insurance renewal process and said agent Kyle Turner worked with the insurer to reduce the initial bid by $24,000. Staff said the net effect left the district's premium increasing from about $302,000 to about $309,000 compared with prior figures.
A staff presenter noted that the district's experience modifier had dropped below one for the first time since 2022, which helped reduce rates. Board members discussed the figures and then voted to accept the insurance proposal from Shepard (Shephard) Insurance.
The board also voted to retain the treasurer and deputy treasurer as in 2025 and to appoint the school board members to the board of finance; these finance-related motions were recorded as passing 5-0. The board was told Kyle Turner will attend the next board meeting to review details with members.
The insurance and finance approvals were presented as routine financial management for the district; board members did not record substantive amendments to the proposal at the meeting.
