For 2027–28 the district approved a calendar with only two built-in snow makeup days because of how holidays and breaks fall that year. The most notable change is moving fall break to the week immediately after a nine-week grading period (requested by multiple schools that send students to regional programs), which presenters said reduces athletic-season conflicts. The board approved the 2027–28 calendar by voice vote (recorded as "passes 5").
Board members noted the association and building leaders had already seen the proposals, and presenters said the calendars reflect attempts to balance instructional time with regional cooperation on professional development days.
