Board hears insurance renewal report; support services outlines gym and AV upgrades
Summary
A presenter briefed the board on the recent insurance renewal: Liberty Mutual continues as the property carrier and Eastern Alliance handles workers' compensation; premium increases were driven mainly by a rise in the district's workers' comp experience modification. Support services reported planned West Gym floor replacement and speaker-system and goal-hoist upgrades.

The board received an update on insurance renewals and several upcoming support-services projects.
Administration and an insurance representative said the district retained Liberty Mutual for property coverage and continued with Eastern Alliance for worker's compensation. Property-premium increases were negotiated down from initial proposals, the presenter said, but the district's experience modification for workers' compensation increased, which contributed significantly to higher workers' compensation costs. The consultant noted its fees are charged on a fee basis and remain unchanged.
Support services reported that design work for replacing the West Gym floor is nearing completion and that the district plans to upgrade goal-hoist systems to keypad operation and to replace a deteriorating speaker system; quotes from multiple vendors are pending and will be brought to the board for consideration.
No contract awards or dollar figures for the insurance premiums or facility projects were finalized during the meeting; administration said price quotes and detailed recommendations will be provided at a future board meeting.
