Highway superintendent reports road repairs, bridge inspections and orders correction of misspelled road name

At the Nov. 10 Dawes County Board meeting, Assessor Lindy Coleman reported a road‑name discrepancy and a spelling error on county maps and requested a corrected 911 address. "Maps show two (2) names, its only one (1) name and its spelled incorrectly," Coleman said. The Board instructed Highway Superintendent Wade Yada to correct the signage and spelling.
Yada then summarized ongoing road and bridge work. He reported District 1 crews are grading roads and hauling gravel, District 2 completed a culvert installation on Table Road and is hauling gravel to Nixon Road, and crews will work on Dry Creek Road. District 3 is working on Squaw Mound Road; staff are replacing culverts and autogates. Yada said crack sealing is complete on Airport, Country Club and Redfern roads and has been done on Dunlap and Table Center roads. He added that bridge inspections are nearly complete.
The instruction to change signage and the 911 address aims to ensure emergency services and mapping reflect the corrected name. No formal ordinance or external approvals were cited; the Board treated the direction as a staff instruction.
