Highway superintendent reports road progress; board approves pipeline trench across Mill Road

Vice Chairman Jake Stewart and Commissioner Walter Juhlin heard road and equipment updates from Highway Superintendent Wade Yada at the Oct. 14 Dawes County Commissioners meeting in Chadron.
Wade Yada said District 1 crews finished work on McHenry Road and would move to Beaver Valley, District 2 was graveling Table and Nixon Roads, and District 3 was graveling Lemmon Road. He reported that "the Crusher is up and running at the Goff pit" and that crews have bladed 201.7 miles of road to date. The board and Yada discussed the early return of a rented crusher and ongoing grading work across all districts.
Yada also presented a petition from landowner Alan Soester to trench a pipeline across Mill Road (sections 34-32-52 and 27-32-52) to service a well. Commissioner Walter Juhlin moved to approve the petition and to direct the Highway Superintendent to monitor the situation; Stewart seconded the motion. The board approved the petition by roll-call vote, Ayes: Juhlin and Stewart.
The board did not set additional conditions in the minutes beyond directing the Highway Superintendent to monitor the work. The commissioners recorded no objections and moved on to other agenda items.
