The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman from Seat 1 (term through November 2026) during its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. On a motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Twombly, the Board voted to accept the resignation. The Board clarified that this will be an appointment to fill the unexpired term rather than an election.
Mrs. Adams said Mr. Gilman represented The Meadows for eight years and that staff will ask Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property owners association manager to e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements, and the process for submitting a resume or letter of interest prior to the next meeting. The Board directed staff to include candidate materials on the next meeting agenda for consideration.
