Service Department reports progress on crack sealing and fields work; committee approves minutes and removes Wiltshire/State Road item

Service Director Nick Cinquepalmi told the North Royalton Streets Committee on Oct. 7 that crews completed the County Crack Sealing Program about two weeks earlier and the city will be reimbursed for materials. He said asphalt work is continuing while plants remain open—“it looks like they will have another 6–7 weeks”—and crews are preparing trucks for winter operations (once plows are installed the trucks won’t be usable for hauling).
Chair Joanne Krejci asked about construction at Fields 4 and 5; Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz said the project has started, Storm Water has addressed drainage, some asphalt and concrete removal is underway and fence materials have been ordered. Krejci asked whether the work was done in-house; the mayor said it was a mix of in-house work and contracted fence installation.
The committee also handled routine business. The committee approved the Sept. 2, 2025 Streets Committee minutes in a motion moved by Krejci and seconded by Gorjanc (Yeas: 3; Nays: 0). Later, members voted to remove the Wiltshire/State Road intersection from the Streets Committee agenda and referred it to the Safety Committee (motion moved by Krejci, seconded by Gorjanc; Yeas: 3; Nays: 0). The meeting adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
Krejci and Gorjanc said they have been pleased with the monthly Rumpke report, which shows only a small number of outstanding service issues. The mayor said larger road projects for 2027 would be considered during the budget process.
Next steps: staff will continue asphalt operations while weather allows, complete field site prep and seek reimbursement for the county crack-seal materials; Wiltshire/State Road will be discussed in the Safety Committee as appropriate.
