Chubbuck council adopts tentative $28.24 million FY2027 budget, schedules public hearing

Chubbuck City Treasurer Eric Jablonski presented the city’s tentative fiscal year 2027 budget and the council voted unanimously to publish it for public review.
Jablonski told the council that anticipated revenue figures were provided by AIC and that the budget packet currently shows a total property tax estimate of $9,308,502 and total all-funds of $28,239,270. He said some figures remain pending: "we're still waiting on the actual numbers" and staff expects new construction information by July 27 and taxable and annexation values by Aug. 3.
To allow time for review and any adjustments, Jablonski outlined the timetable for finalizing the budget: a study session on July 15 to go through details, a public hearing on Aug. 12 at 6:00 p.m., and a planned presentation of the final budget on Aug. 19.
A council member moved to adopt the tentative FY2027 budget as presented and another member seconded. In a roll call the four participating council members—Councilmember Reese, Councilmember Heiner, Councilmember Evans and Councilmember Hernandez—each voted "Yes," carrying the motion to publish the tentative budget.
Because this vote only authorized publication of the tentative budget for public comment, the council will consider any changes after staff receives updated valuation figures and after the scheduled study session and public hearing.
