The City of Byron Mayor and Council unanimously adopted a formal budget for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) FY2021 funds at a special session on June 22, 2022, creating a designated Fund 230 to record the transfers auditors and state reporting require, City Administrator Tiffany Sanders told the council.
The action came during a brief special meeting called to order by Mayor Michael Chidester at 4:00 p.m. Sanders explained that state reporting and auditors require the city to create Fund 230 to show transfers in and out so the budget is balanced for submission to the state. Councilmember Michael Chumbley moved to approve the adoption of a budget for the ARPA FY2021 funds; Councilmember Chris Hodges seconded the motion. The council voted unanimously to approve the budget.
The meeting record lists attendance by Mayor Michael Chidester and council members James Richardson, Rusty Adams, Michael Chumbley, Chris Hodges and Alan Dorsey; City Clerk Telina Allred was present, as was City Administrator Tiffany Sanders and a representative from the Leader Tribune.
