Roadmaster Falkenstein outlined planned curb work on Spring Lane and paving projects on Carolina Avenue, St. John’s Circle, Pickering Lane and within several developments (Moorehall Drive, Meeting House Lane, Walden Court, Biddle Lane, Adamson Court). He also discussed pavement-preservation options and said tar-and-chip was not currently needed. Falkenstein described cape-seal as a lower-cost alternative to full paving with an estimated 8–10 year lifespan that can defer full reconstruction.
Supervisor John Kiernan requested further research and site visits to municipalities that have used cape-seal to evaluate long-term performance. Staff reported a single bidder (Cedar Springs) on the equipment rental and snow removal bid, with a 2.4% contract cost increase over last year. On a motion by Supervisor Robert Cooney, seconded by Supervisor Devin Hager, the Board authorized advertisement to bid the cape-seal project.
