Township Manager Laurie Getz asked the Board to provide direction on preparing a five-year budget and capital improvement plan. She reviewed the Synario software demo and discussed the option of staff preparing a draft plan for the workshop while the Board evaluates commercial tools.
Supervisor Jonn Callahan said Synario offers advanced scenario modeling but requires substantial onboarding and lacks municipal forecasting templates and seamless integration. Supervisor Robert Cooney suggested evaluating ClearGov and other municipal solutions, noting ClearGov’s municipal adoption and Excel integration. Several supervisors, including John Kiernan and Danielle Jouenne, supported a multi-pronged approach: staff should prepare a feasible draft framework for the first-year planning workshop while vendor evaluations continue in parallel.
The Board did not adopt a vendor or a purchase at the May 11 meeting; rather, it directed staff to prepare a draft budget framework reflecting staffing capacity and likely outputs, and to bring vendor presentations forward as part of a measured evaluation process.
