Library director says electrical repair exceeded spending limit; board to appoint new member and launch book-return effort

Giggley also announced that Ben Fosland will join the library board to replace a departing member and that the board will move its regular meeting day from Wednesday to Tuesday to accommodate the new member. In addition, she outlined a plan to recover long-overdue materials—including a prize drawing to encourage returns and relabeling work before migration into the Montana shared catalog—and reported that hundreds of items remain unreturned; transcript counts varied during discussion.
Commissioners asked staff to prepare any necessary appointment paperwork for Fosland and to coordinate with utilities if a service inspection is warranted. The board did not take additional formal action on funding for a full HVAC replacement during the meeting.
