The county would need to sign required certification language and the task order by an early January ordering deadline if it wants to spend and claim reimbursement this grant cycle.
Commissioners also raised a separate procurement concern after a written bill from Red Tail for radio checks and antenna work was reviewed. One commissioner asked staff to request a line‑item breakdown from Red Tail and to check whether rural fire districts and other departments were billed similarly. The board requested staff follow up to determine why some departments appear to have had separate charges and to seek quotes before approving payment.
On the contractor certification, the commission discussed that the form requires a signatory to represent whether the contractor provides covered telecommunications equipment or services under federal restrictions; commissioners asked staff to ensure the correct box is checked and to wait for the formal task order if desired. The motion to approve the certification and proceed with the task‑order process passed by voice vote.
