The Select Board approved a short-term rental arrangement to support emergency medical services (EMS) operations during July and August.
Local supporters identified an available vehicle and offered a rental rate of $2,500 for the two-month period; EMS requested the arrangement to avoid high mainland rental costs and to ensure reliable local transport for PDM applicants and volunteer logistics. A board member said the local offer — approximately $2,500 for two months — was substantially less than mainland rental quotations that staff had obtained.
The board approved the rental and asked staff to add the vehicle to the town’s municipal insurance policy or otherwise confirm coverage before the vehicle is used for EMS tasks. The board also noted that volunteers who bring personal vehicles for transport should do so at their own expense.
