Kettle River council green-lights Fun Fest planning, playground repairs and snowmobile club storage container

She noted the Barnum football team has volunteered to help and that she needs to form a 501(c)(3) and secure insurance and City permission to use the property.
Council unanimously approved planning for a Kettle River Fun Fest and also approved holding the City barbecue May 2, 2026, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in KR Kids Park (with a move to the Legion Building if weather requires).
Mark Peters, representing the Kettle River Snowmobile Club, asked to place a 40-foot storage container next to the club building. The council voted unanimously to allow the club to keep the container on the east side of the building for five years.
The council also discussed other summer events already on the calendar, including Kettle River National Night Out (Aug. 4), Ma & Pa Kettle Days (Aug. 7–9) and the Carlton County Fair (Aug. 13–16). Several motions related to community events and donations were passed by unanimous vote.
