During public comment at the Dec. 1 meeting, resident Micah Maliskas announced he is interested in appointment to the upcoming vacant council seat and outlined his background and priorities.
Maliskas said he currently serves on the Bell Tower CIC and the Sustainability Committee, was a co-recipient of the University Heights Citizen of the Year Award in 2024, helped draft the Trees and Weeds (Managed Natural Landscapes) ordinances, and publishes a weekly newsletter aimed at summarizing council and committee activity for residents. He said he would bring community insight, sustained engagement and a willingness to listen to the council if appointed.
Next steps: Maliskas’s interest will be part of the council’s selection process for the vacant seat; council did not take immediate action at this meeting.
