Union County board votes down approval of 'candidate A' in personnel report

The personnel report otherwise moved forward after the board approved a version with candidate A removed for separate consideration. The separate roll-call vote on candidate A produced four votes in favor and five against; one member abstained on an earlier vote when the personnel report was first considered. Board members who cast recorded votes were read aloud by the clerk during the roll call.
The board took the personnel matters up in executive session earlier in the meeting and returned to open session to act; trustees said no votes were taken during the closed portion. The board did not provide additional public detail about the reasons for the no votes on candidate A during the meeting.
