The Williamsburg County School District Board of Trustees approved routine business and a lease renewal during its evening meeting.
The board voted unanimously to approve the consent agenda and to accept the January 29, 2026 meeting minutes after motions were made and seconded and the Chair called for the voice votes. The Chair also presented committee assignments for the policy and budget committees; the roster was moved, seconded and carried.
A presenter requested renewal of the lease for the district’s former Muddy Creek School in the Muddy Creek community so planned repairs and work could proceed. "We discovered that the lease had expired and we can't put money into the building unless we have a lease," the presenter said. A motion to approve the lease was moved, seconded and the Chair called the question; the motion carried with no opposition.
Later in the meeting the board voted to enter executive session under Section 30‑4‑70 of the South Carolina Code of Laws to discuss matters printed on the agenda; the motion to enter executive session was moved, seconded and approved.
No roll‑call vote tallies or individual yes/no votes were read into the record; the meeting transcript shows voice votes and the Chair declaring motions carried when there was no opposition.
