County officials outline Monmouth 250 plans; Spring Lake Heights among early municipal supporters

Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon and MonmouthNJ 250 Executive Director Ted Maturo presented county plans for the Monmouth County 250th anniversary during the Spring Lake Heights council meeting on Jan. 21.
Giordano Hanlon described a series of countywide events, including a gala, parade, 10K race and an art contest, and asked municipalities to pass resolutions supporting the celebration and to share local events so they can be publicized countywide. Spring Lake Heights was identified as one of the first municipalities to pass such a resolution and received a commemorative wall hanging in recognition of that support.
Council President William Graetz accepted the presentation on behalf of the borough; county officials asked municipal contacts to notify the county when local events are planned so dates can be shared with other communities.
