Carissa Salvo, the commission's staff coordinator, said she had been looped into an HR email thread last Tuesday that referenced a salary reallocation but did not include the formal application paperwork required under the commission's process. “I had some clarifications that I was seeking, due to the short notice and the circumstances of scheduling,” Salvo said, explaining she had not had sufficient face time with the appointing authority or deputy and had not received appendix A1 or the formal application.
Chairperson Tim Holmes said the item deserved careful attention because the proposed changes could cross job-description lines and affect higher-level positions. “I think that we need more information, certainly, to act on this,” Holmes said, calling for formal documents to be submitted to members of the personnel review committee before the commission takes up the item.
Commissioners agreed to table the request and revisit it when HR provides the required paperwork; Salvo said she hoped to see the item again in January. The commission did not adopt a formal disposition beyond tabling and did not take a recorded vote on the substantive proposal at this meeting.
