Stanhope Board accepts clean audit, approves bill lists and delegates business authority

The Stanhope Board of Education accepted the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and the Auditor’s Management Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, after a presentation of the audit. The auditor and the board’s records show there were no findings or recommendations. The acceptance was recorded as part of the business services roll call and passed unanimously.
The board approved two bill lists: Oct. 17–Oct. 31, 2024 totaling $241,647.22, and Nov. 1–Nov. 13, 2024 totaling $205,564.09, for combined payments of $447,211.31. The board also approved Treasurer’s and Board Secretary’s reports for September 2024 and certified that, as of Sept. 30, 2024, no line-item account had encumbrances and expenditures exceeding appropriations under N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10 (c) 3 and 4.
In addition, the board passed a resolution delegating to the Business Administrator/Board Secretary the authority to manage business operations from Nov. 13, 2024 until the next meeting where formal action will be taken, including transfers of funds and payment of bills. An addendum item approved disposal of obsolete window-unit air conditioners previously used in classrooms.
What’s next: The Business Administrator will execute routine business operations under the delegated authority, and the audit will be maintained on the district record as having no recommendations.
