Spring Lake Heights mayor administers oath to Sara King; William Graetz elected council president

At its Jan. 6, 2025 reorganizational meeting, the Spring Lake Heights Borough Council swore in Sara King, elected William Graetz council president and confirmed committee assignments and procedural rules for 2025.
Mayor Christopher Campion called the Jan. 6, 2025 regular session of the Spring Lake Heights Borough Council to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Frank E. Adams Municipal Building and administered the oath of office to newly elected Councilwoman Sara King.
Borough Clerk Janine Gillis read the Statement of the November 5, 2024 Election Determination into the record and noted that she had sworn in Councilman Leonard Capristo earlier in the day. The meeting record shows Councilman Capristo listed as absent for the evening roll call.
On a motion by Councilman Christopher Willms, seconded by Councilwoman Sara King, the council adopted Resolution No. R2025-01 establishing the procedure for election of the council president. Councilman Willms then nominated Councilman William Graetz as Council President (R2025-02); the motion was seconded by Councilwoman King and approved unanimously by the five members present.
The council also adopted R2025-03 confirming 2025 committee assignments: Councilman John Casagrande (Finance), Councilwoman Sara King (Grants and Legislation), Councilman Leonard Capristo (Recreation), Councilman William Graetz (Public Safety), Councilman Christopher Willms (Public Works, Building and Grounds) and Councilwoman Michele Degnan-Spang (Water-Sewer Utility).
