Resident raises noise concerns about proposed pickleball courts; council asks staff to consider mitigation

Mayor Christopher Campion said the borough does not yet have a formal plan for the pickleball courts and that the project is anticipated to begin in the spring. Borough Administrator John Barrett asked York whether there had been prior noise complaints related to the courts. Councilman Leonard Capristo asked York how long he had lived at his address and York said he was concerned the noise could affect his property value.
Mayor Campion directed Administrator Barrett to include the noise-related comments in the project plans so that potential mitigation options can be considered as the borough develops the proposal. The exchange took place during the public comment period; no formal action on the courts was taken at the Oct. 21 meeting.
