Council updates joint municipal‑court code, introduces clerk salary and student‑liaison ordinances

At the March 10 meeting the council adopted Ordinance 2026‑04 updating Chapter 10 to reflect current membership and committee composition of the Andover Joint Municipal Court (members listed include Andover, Byram and Green Townships and the Boroughs of Andover, Hopatcong and Stanhope). The amendment clarifies contributions, committee membership and withdrawal procedures.
Council also introduced Ordinance 2026‑06 (first reading) to amend the salary ordinance to set the Borough Clerk salary at $90,000 per year, and introduced Ordinance 2026‑07 to permit the Environmental Commission to nominate a non‑voting Student Liaison (preferably a Lenape Valley Regional High School student) serving a September–August one‑year term. Both introduced ordinances were read by title and set for public hearing on March 24.
