Stanhope tables three housing-related resolutions; approves reappointments and road contracts

At the Feb. 10 meeting the Stanhope Borough Council tabled three resolutions tied to the borough’s Fourth Round housing implementation: Resolution 051-26 (Affirmative Marketing Plan), Resolution 052-26 (Fourth Round Affordable Housing Spending Plan) and Resolution 053-26 (Rehabilitation Plan). Councilman Riccardi asked that the resolutions be tabled pending revision and further review of figures and language identified during the earlier Housing Element discussion; the motions to table were carried.
Separately, the council approved Resolution 054-26 reappointing Angelica Sabatini as borough chief financial officer at $3,150 per month and Ashleigh Frueholz as tax collector at $2,100 per month, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The roll-call vote on that personnel resolution was unanimous.
The council also awarded two public-works contracts using the Morris County Co-Op procurement: Resolution 055-26 awards milling and paving improvements for Sunset Avenue, Ridge Road, Overhill Road, Mountainview Road and West Drive to Tilcon New York, Inc. for $84,088.45 (subject to NJDOT approval); Resolution 056-26 awards striping work for the same project to Dan Swayze & Son, Inc. for $314.90. Both contracts were approved on unanimous roll-call votes. Finally, Resolution 057-26 approving payment of the current bills list (dated Feb. 10, 2026) was adopted on unanimous roll call.
Council members also noted community matters: Justin Danneker reported completion of his Eagle Scout project—fencing and cornhole boards at Pennington Park—and Mayor Wronko signed his completion paperwork. Councilman Wachterhauser thanked mutual-aid responders following a recent structure fire in the borough and noted the borough’s ladder truck was damaged; a fundraiser is underway.
