At its Oct. 22, 2024 meeting, the Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors approved administrative and finance items from Clerk-Treasurer Alana Paumen. Chairman Mike Helman moved to approve Clerk-Treasurer training; Supervisor Andy Christensen seconded the motion and it carried 4-0.
The board reviewed the unemployment quarterly statement and decided to keep the state flag "as is" in the township hall. Vice Chairman Brandon Geyen moved to set the 2025 fire fees at $60 per parcel for properties in Monticello and $95 per parcel for properties in Maple Lake; Supervisor Christensen seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
Staff reported that a computer install had been completed and one supervisor laptop remained outstanding. The board discussed allowing township staff the opportunity to work from home with prior approval from the chairman.
Why this matters: the fire fee sets a recurring charge for affected parcel owners and the Clerk-Treasurer training and IT updates affect administrative continuity. The decisions were approved unanimously as recorded in the meeting minutes.
What’s next: the clerk will implement the fee schedule for 2025 billing cycles; the transcript did not specify billing mechanics or the effective date for the fee in tax or service statements.
