Stillwater board accepts resignation, revises prior hires, approves bus-aide hire and financial reports; enters executive session on student privacy

The board approved Dec. 15, 2025 meeting minutes and certified the November 30, 2025 Board Secretary's and Treasurer's Reports which balanced at $3,986,600.39, in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:23-16.10(c)3.
On personnel the board accepted with regret the resignation of Albina Voris as a substitute teacher/paraprofessional, rescinded two motions previously approved on Dec. 15, 2025 related to hiring Holly DeStefano (one to a para-professional position and one as a bus aide), and approved hiring Nicole Kerkhoven as a substitute bus aide from Jan. 6 to June 30, 2026 at a daily rate of $18 ($9 per run), not to exceed $3,240. The rescind motion and the subsequent approvals were recorded by roll call vote; members and absences were noted in the minutes.
The board also approved a leave of absence for employee #971 from Jan. 5, 2026 until on or about March 30, 2026; the leave is covered under the New Jersey Family Leave Act (NJFLA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) with eight weeks of FMLA remaining.
The board held a closed session at 7:32 p.m. pursuant to N.J.S.A. 10:4-12 and 10:4-13 to discuss student privacy; the board returned to public session at about 7:35 p.m. and adjourned immediately thereafter. The meeting record shows no public speakers during the public comment period. The Business Administrator/Board Secretary was listed in the meeting minutes as Rene9 Metzgar; the signature at the end of the minutes reads "Brut Metzgar," which appears to be a transcription error in the record.
