The board voted to form an ad‑hoc committee for the 1988 wing and gymnasium project with members appointed as Mr. Franek, Mrs. Thibault and Mr. DeGroat, with Mrs. Galante or Mrs. Williver serving as an alternate. The board also authorized Metzgar to issue a Request for Proposal for architecture services related to the project. The motions were moved by Mr. Franek, seconded by Mr. DeGroat and carried on roll‑call vote.
Other facilities actions included approving a 12‑month garbage disposal contract with Sanico at $782.00 per month beginning Nov. 1, 2025, with an option to renew for up to two additional years and an annual increase capped at 3 percent. The minutes list an alternate quote from Waste Management at $1,143.34 per month. The board also approved an Emergency Evacuation Agreement recommended by the New Jersey State Police and authorized submission of the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan and M‑1 worksheet to the Department of Education.
Metzgar described the immediate next steps as issuing the architecture RFP and convening the ad‑hoc committee to develop project scope and timeline. Any spending related to capital projects or architectural contracts will return to the board for formal approval once vendor proposals are received and reviewed.
No funding authorizations for design or construction were approved at the Oct. 14 meeting; the board confined action to committee formation, procurement steps and routine maintenance planning.
