Stillwater BOE approves $702,383.68 in payments, multiple field trips and Sustainable NJ grant submissions

At its Sept. 22 meeting the Stillwater Township Board of Education approved district checks and payments for the period Aug. 19–Sept. 22, 2025 totaling $702,383.68 and authorized purchase orders over $1,000 and monthly travel lists.
The board approved a slate of field trips for 2025–26, including a Paulinskill Watershed Education Project trip (Grade 5) and associated Stocker Bus cost of $470, a Turtleback Zoo trip (Grade 1) at $489.04, a Fairview Lake YMCA Grade 6 overnight trip (Oct. 17–18) with a two‑day bus cost of $790, and Kittatinny Regional High School aquatics program days billed at $213.93 per day (listed in the agenda). The district authorized Stocker Bus contracts listed in the agenda for each trip.
In finance business the board approved checks (Account 10, 11, 12, 20 and student activities/cafeteria accounts) and confirmed submission of two Sustainable NJ grant applications: $10,000 for an Herb Garden & Community Food Share Program and $2,000 for Garden Maintenance. The grants were moved by Mrs. Thibault and seconded by Mr. DeGroat and were included in the motion list.
Board members also voted to approve the building-use calendar for October, to allow SEPAG meetings under district insurance (with completed building-use forms), and to declare various outdated trade books and leveled readers surplus for disposal or recycling.
