The Stanhope City Council voted unanimously June 9 to adopt Resolution 2025–2026.16, which authorizes disposal of specified city-owned property in Stanhope. Council Member Devin Hensley moved to approve the resolution and Tom Stupp seconded; the roll call vote was 4–0 in favor.
The resolution language was entered into the meeting materials as “2025 – 2026.16 APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE DISPOSAL OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED IN STANHOPE, IOWA.” The council did not place additional conditions on the disposal during the public meeting, and no price, purchaser, or disposal schedule was read into the record.
Mayor Jeff Schroeder and other council members said the disposal was on the agenda for formal approval and the motion carried without dissent. The council did not discuss appeals, potential buyers or timing at this meeting; follow-up information would come through the clerk’s office or future agenda materials.
