Gastonia council proclaims 10th anniversary of Hunter Huss Alumni Association

The Gastonia City Council presented a proclamation on June 2 recognizing the Hunter Huss Alumni Association’s 10th anniversary.
Mayor Richard Franks read the proclamation, citing the association’s work funding field trips, paying overdue lunch balances and awarding scholarships. Shay Adams, who identified herself as the association’s founder and president, accepted the proclamation and recounted the group’s origin and accomplishments, including scholarship awards and community service projects.
Other alumni at the podium identified themselves and presented alumni shirts to the council. The council moved to read the proclamation into the record and approved that motion unanimously.
The city’s recognition notes the association’s contributions to Hunter Huss High School students and to Gaston County school partnerships.
