Windsor Locks — Commission Chairman Mark Urso told the board on Feb. 11 that he has been working with the First Selectman on proposals for building improvements at the department’s facilities and will meet Feb. 18 with the Director of Public Works and the First Selectman to discuss next steps. The board is awaiting word on a $250,000 grant application it submitted to support the work.
Urso said the department needs additional organizing in preparation for any work and that Assistant Chief or CJ Staiger had sent information about a public safety building planning seminar. Commissioners indicated they are considering sending representatives to the seminar pending approval of funds to cover attendance.
No specific timeline, contractor selection or guaranteed funding was reported at the meeting; the board deferred detailed planning until after the Feb. 18 discussion with town officials and pending grant results.
