Michelle L. Hill submitted a resignation letter dated Feb. 16 asking to step back as Director of Veterans Services while remaining part of the team and continuing work on the banner program. "I have decided to step back as the Director of Veterans Services," Hill wrote, and requested that Retired Chief Master Sergeant Daniel Walsh take over as Director while she and Retired Colonel Edward Barry remain representatives of the veterans services center.
First Selectman Jon Savino announced the appointment of Daniel Walsh as Director of Veterans Services during the Feb. 17 meeting. Savino read Hill's resignation into the record and noted the team's continued volunteer structure; no discussion or vote to deny the appointment was recorded.
