Kristen Motel, attorney for East Coast North Properties LLC, told the board the applicant received a demolition permit in June and has submitted a building‑permit application that is now under review by the village building department. "We are asking for the extension to be granted for, 12 months to accommodate the amount of time it may take for the building department to review the application and issue the permit," Motel said.
Board members confirmed that a 12‑month extension is the regulation and asked whether applicants wished to defer; no applicant requested deferral. The board recorded the motion and vote in the minutes and carried the extension by unanimous vote of members present.
The extension is administrative and does not change the character of any approved variances; applicants were reminded that formal approvals still depend on submission of required building permits and compliance with village regulations.
