Administration gave an example price of about $500 per Neo plus roughly $100 for three‑year insurance, putting a per‑unit all‑in figure near $600. The district said Mac Neos are intended for staff while Chromebooks will be made available to students who do not bring their own device.
Members also pressed for a cost‑benefit analysis comparing non‑Apple machines; administration said Neos are cost‑competitive and compatible with current workflows but agreed to provide additional detail if requested.
The board separately moved to table agenda item 1.2 for further discussion; the motion to table was seconded and the item was set aside for later consideration.
The board also discussed tuition and fee questions tied to the district’s dual-credit partnership with the College of New Jersey. Board members recalled paying about $400 per dual-credit unit in earlier years; administration said the college sets those fees and that the district will follow up with a historical comparison by email.
