Union City schedules zoning amendment public hearing, Devereaux Day kickoff and community trainings

Borough Manager Cindy Wells briefed the Union City Borough Council on several upcoming events and required notices at the Aug. 27 meeting.
Wells said a public hearing on an amendment to the zoning ordinance will be held on Sept. 16; the hearing will be advertised twice as required. Council will also vote on an amendment to the parking ordinance at that meeting and that ordinance will be advertised as required.
Wells noted a Devereaux Day kickoff on Sept. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to promote park and trail improvements along French Creek and the Erie-to-Pittsburgh Trail Head; local and county representatives, including a representative for Sen. Dan Laughlin and County Executive Brenton Davis, were invited. She asked council to attend if possible.
Other items listed included a Sept. 25 meeting for council members to review health insurance plans, free Community Emergency Response Team training Sept. 27–29, and the Erie County Firefighters Association Safety Awards Dinner on Sept. 27. Wells said council opted not to advertise for towing-ordinance bids.
The announcements set several dates for public participation and forthcoming council actions related to zoning and parking ordinance amendments.
